About Healing Seekers
Healing Seekers is a multimedia project that explores remote regions of the world in search of plants, living organisms and therapies that represent centuries-old medical traditions. The multimedia project promotes awareness about the origins of medicines, recognizes ancient medical traditions, and highlights the importance of preserving environments where these organisms originate, so that new cures can be discovered and lives saved.

Healing Education Foundation
Healing Education Foundation is devoted to educating the public about the many medical practices around the world, additionally highlighting the discoveries of the Healing Seekers and Natural Discoveries teams. Our education format will include a comprehensive website complete with video, podcasts and other interactive tools to share information about indigenous culture, their medical practices, sustainable environmental conservation practices, and the interconnectedness of all life forms. Future plans also include the production of live interactive multimedia projects that will connect classrooms to our research adventure in "real" time.
Natural Discoveries, Inc.
Natural Discoveries' mission is to work with indigenous communities and healers to investigate the efficacy of their traditional medical therapies. With their permission, we will work together to develop sustainable relationships of reciprocity, where communities will be empowered and the health of all communities improved.

Thomasville Pharmacist Travels the World to Study Healing Methods
By Tina Firesheets | Staff Writer - Greensboro News & Record Sunday, Mar. 9, 2008 3:00 am
The shaman started the ceremony with a blessing.
Reciting a prayer in his Andean dialect, he made the sign of the cross with his hand. Thomasville native Amy Greeson stood before him, unafraid. She traveled across the Atlantic Ocean and below the equator for this experience.
The shaman placed rose petals into the palm of his hand, then mixed them with oil. He dipped his index finger into the mixture, then made the sign of the cross on her forehead.
Finally, he blew smoke from a cigarette several times into the crown of Greeson's head. Some call this area the "crown chakra," and it's believed to be the body's energy center.
His breath felt warm against Greeson's scalp. Her body felt light; her spirit peaceful.
